Five Minute Friday (on Tuesday) BRAVE!

BRAVE. I used to think people that were brave weren’t afraid of anything. I thought of them as fearless and that meant that I could never be BRAVE because I am scared of lots of things!

I don’t think that anymore! Now I think that being BRAVE people are just as scared as me, but they do the hard things anyway. I can do that. I can be scared and afraid and still try.

People who are BRAVE sometimes fail. In the movies and on TV, it seems like the brave always win everything that they try. Again, I mess things up ALL THE TIME, so it became another reasons I would never be BRAVE.

NO! Brave means doing something hard and sometimes failing. The BRAVE part is doing it and the BRAVEr part is doing it again and again until I succeed.

I am BRAVE. I do things. I try. I’m scared, but still in there and trying. I fail. I try again and again. I don’t give up easily. I am BRAVE!

Five Minute Friday (on Thursday!)

Apples. Mmmm! Apples are one of my favorite treats in the fall. The crunch when I bite into the red delicious yumminess wakes me up to the sour, juicy pleasure. Apples are more than just a fruit to me, they are the symbol of a season…autumn. That’s my favorite time of year. Weather turns cooler and leaves change colors. I love the first day I need to wear a sweatshirt. That reminds me the cozy days of winter aren’t far behind. Apples also represent school. You know the old cliche?!?! Give an apple to the teacher? I love that! I could eat apples every day of the year, but the fact that they are best in the fall makes them even more special.

I love that I got a chance to write about my favorite fall treat today…apples!

Five Minute Friday: BEGIN

When I see the word
begin,
I smile. It means a
Fresh start
New

It means
Second chances
Starting over
Erasing the past
and the pain

Begin
Means no mistakes
Perfection

Perfection?
Life isn’t perfect
FAR from it
Life is painful
and hard
and confusing

A chance
A moment
Where everything is
New
Perfect

Begin
Sunrise
New Year’s
September
Birthdays

They all
mark the
BEGINNING
the chance
to start again
