A story in six words

Can you tell a story in six words? This is the challenge presented to our sixth graders. It may sound easy, but it’s harder than you may think. Look at how hard the students are working!

Here are some of our six word stories...

Football ripping through the air, touchdown!

Open envelope. I made the team.

Best dog ever. Sick. Put down.

Friends. Help with emotional rides. Love.

I’m a little crazy. So what?

Run. Throw. Pass. Catch. Score. Win.

You borrow time. Don’t waste it.

There is a paw print. Look out!

The day I arrived, they cried.

Some way, some how, I’ll laugh.

Lots of whiplash on the rollercoaster.

Jellyfish in ocean. Stung on butt.

Firefighter later, but for now soccer.

Run. Slip. Crack. OW. Doctor. Cast.

Little Puppy, Runt, Adopted Into Family.

Drawing, a life I’m going for.

Family, crabs, fish, sand, salt, happiness

Mom hurt. Dad mad. I’m scared!

Red roofs, delicious food, Florence life

Watching movie. Heart pumping. Ejector seat!?

Eat, sleep, and die with love.

Boom! Crack, ambulance. OWWWW. No school.

Orange serrated knife, I was four.

Canter. Jump. Thump. Roll, Scream. Cry.

Scribble, scribble I go. Top secret.

Pillows and books make morning magic.

What’s your six word memoir?

Homework and Happy Weekend!

Happy Weekend Everyone!

It’s a beautiful Saturday morning and I’m going to go out with a friend and shop. What are you doing today? Any exciting plans? Don’t forget to finish the title page of your writing notebook! I can’t wait to see all of the creative titles. When you finish that, please spend some time making the cover of your notebook look like YOU! (Block 3/8, please don’t forget to finish the sign of how many books you read last year, too.) If you have any questions about your homework, please comment here or email me. Can’t wait to see you on Monday!

Poetry by Amanda

I love it when you smile
It really warms my heart
But knowing I’m not the reason
It tears me apart

You smile and laugh
and your beauty just shines
While I’m left here hiding,
Hurting and being the one that cries

My tears are for you,
my beauty my love
Knowing that I will never be good enough
I just smile and say I’m okay
When I get that far away look in my eyes

But really I’m only breaking and about to cry
I hate myself for the tears,
Love, loss, and heartbreak

Regrets by Paravi

I regret trusting the wrong person
With my secrets and hopes
I regret listening to my friends saying that she said“”I am full of myself” to them
But I am glad that they stood up for me
Like real friends do
I regret not realizing sooner that I don’t care what she says
I regret not spending more time with the people I loved
And only waking up and missing them when I had to say goodbye
I regret not taking a stand
I regret being so shy when I have a whole life ahead
A whole world not yet explored
A whole road not yet traveled
But I will never
As long as I live
Regret my talents
My personality
My funniness
My dreams
My friends
My family
I will never regret being
Me

Flag football by Kyle

This year is my first flag football season.  I’m playing flag football to condition for tackle football in the Fall.  I wasn’t planning to be the starting quarterback!  I missed the first practice and game because I was on vacation.  My team lost their first game, but we won our second game.  My team’s name is the Falcons.  I threw one touchdown pass, and three extra points.  My team has every kind of player. We have two big guys, two fast rockets, three amazing defensive weapons, and two great quarterbacks.  I would love to see us go to the championship!

Anonymous student poetry

In the shadows of the dock
To the sunrise on the hill be the old rocks by the shore
To the shiny glass on the windows of old building
I wonder where I should go next
What places I should see
These are all questions I need to think about before I go
So I’m writing all this down

Anonymous Student Poetry

A Poem By Me
I got up and couldn’t breath,
tears were rolling down everyone’s cheeks.
I shivered and started reading.
my voice was shaking,
My heart was beating,
Unlike Papa’s, who about I am reading.
The words are not mine but I feel like they are.
I was almost done and started to shutter,
because I remembered.
I kissed him on the head,
said goodnight and promised to come back,
but I never did.
I should have been there but I wasn’t ,
I was here not there.
I will never forget,
that day when I came home,
and heard that he went to heaven.
He’s not is pain anymore,
is it better I don’t know.
But I’m broken.
